Matthew Salesses

Matthew Salesses is the author of the novel The Hundred-Year Flood (Little A, 2015), an Amazon Bestseller, Best Book of September, and Kindle First pick. Three new books are forthcoming: Disappear Doppelgänger Disappear: A Novel (Little A, 2020); Craft in the Real World (Catapult Books, 2021); and Own Story: Essays (Little A, 2021). Matthew was adopted from Korea and has written about adoption and race for NPR Code Switch, The New York Times Motherlode, VICE.com, Salon, Longreads, Gay Magazine, and many other venues. His short fiction has appeared in Glimmer Train, American Short Fiction, PEN/Guernica, and Witness, among others. Matthew is an Assistant Professor of English at Coe College and teaches in the low-residency MFA Program at Ashland University. He writes about fiction craft and pedagogy for the Pleiades blog, where he is the Website Editor.
