HOWARD MARSHALL

Howard Wight Marshall is Professor Emeritus and former chair of Art History and Archaeology, and former director of the Missouri Cultural Heritage Center at the University of Missouri–Columbia. In addition to his works on fiddle music, Play Me Something Quick and Devilish and Fiddler’s Dream, Marshall has also written books on architecture, including Folk Architecture in Little Dixie: A Regional Culture in Missouri and Paradise Valley, Nevada: The People and Buildings of an American Place. In 2018, Marshall received the Missouri Humanities Council’s Distinguished Literary Achievement Award.
