Columbia locals might recognize Author Michael Nye. Although he now lives in Ohio, Michael lived in Columbia for some years, and was the managing editor of the Missouri Review. We're delighted to welcome him back to Columbia for this year's festival to celebrate the recent publication of his wonderful debut novel, All the Castles Burned, continuing Columbia's record of producing a statistically perplexing number of first-class writers. (Yes, we're still claiming him as one of ours.) And in case you missed it, may we suggest that you read his beautiful essay about the autobiographical genesis of some of the book at LitHub?
Michael is the author of the story collection Strategies Against Extinction and the novel All the Castles Burned. His fiction and nonfiction have appeared in American Literary Review, Boulevard, Cincinnati Review, Crab Orchard Review, Epoch, Kenyon Review, The Millions, New South, and the Normal School, among many others. The former managing editor of the Missouri Review, he currently lives with his family in Columbus, Ohio.
