Many of our guests at Unbound have won prestigious literary awards, but the accolades and prizes awarded to novelist and short story writer Jennifer Haigh seem a bit over the top, frankly. Still, as you’ll discover next April, she deserves every last one of them. We’re thrilled to welcome her to Columbia!
Jennifer’s sixth book, the novel Heat and Light, won a 2017 Literature Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and was named a Best Book of 2016 by The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal and NPR. Previous books have won the PEN/Hemingway Award, the Massachusetts Book Award and the PEN New England Award in fiction, and have been published in eighteen languages. Her stories have been published widely, in The Atlantic, The Best American Short Stories and elsewhere. A graduate of the Iowa Writer’s Workshop, she is a 2018 Guggenheim Fellow.
