Columbia is readying itself for its annual love-in with documentary movies - the unsurpassed and completely wonderful True/False Film Festival, which runs from March 3 to March 6. Now in its 13th amazing year, True/False has become one of the premier documentary film festivals in the world. We are incredibly lucky to have it on our doorstep, and it's one of the reasons why Columbia is such an awesome place to live.
One of the films featured at this year's festival has a literary bent - Author: the JT LeRoy Story. JT LeRoy was a writer who "burned brightly like the transgressive lovechild of Flannery O'Connor and Truman Capote," and this movie is a compelling exploration of the creative impulses that drive writers to tell the stories they tell - whether on the page or in their lives.
Thanks to our good friends at True/False, we have SIXTY TICKETS to Author that we will be giving away over the course of this weekend on our Facebook Page, starting on Friday night. Please "like" our page if you haven't already done so, and check back regularly to see how to win.
