Under the Wide and Starry Sky (2014), named one of the best books of the year by the Washington Post, explores the improbable relationship of Robert Louis Stevenson and his spirited American wife, Fanny Van de Grift Stevenson.

A native Midwesterner, Nancy Horan now lives and writes on Whidbey Island in Puget Sound.
